Payslip comparison

Why is my pay different this month?

Compare two payslips to see what changed, how it affected your take-home pay, and what to ask payroll.

Compare two payslips from the same job, ideally covering the same number of weeks. Enter amounts for each period, not year-to-date totals. Manual entries and comparison results stay in this page; uploads use the extraction service described below. Refreshing clears your figures.

Use gross cash earnings before salary sacrifice. If the payslip gross already excludes sacrifice, add it back here. Enter sacrifice once only, and exclude it from the pension deduction. Use negative deductions for refunds. Include repayments or reimbursements in other deductions with the appropriate sign.

The example uses illustrative payslip figures, not a tax calculation. Review uploaded figures before comparing.

Why can take-home pay change when my salary has not?

A pension or student loan deduction may have started, your tax code may have changed, or payroll may have applied a refund or correction. Comparing the actual lines helps you locate the change before asking why it happened.

Does this prove that my payslip is wrong?

No. It explains changes in the figures you enter and checks their arithmetic. It cannot establish your tax liability, scheme entitlement or the reason for an adjustment. Use the payslip checker for a separate comparison against an estimate, and ask payroll to confirm unexplained changes.

Are my payslips saved?

There is no account or saved payslip history. Manual comparison runs in your browser. If you choose an upload, the file is sent to Google Gemini for extraction; IsMyPayRight does not retain it after extraction. Read the privacy notice before uploading.
