Budget around payday

Plan your paydays around your bills

Enter the net income you expect and the bills you need to cover. See what to reserve before payday and where the dates could leave a gap, across the next 12 months.

Your entries stay in this page unless you choose to save or download them. The balance is a plan based on what you include, rather than a bank balance or a forecast of future earnings. Add everyday spending, fees and one-off costs that matter to you.

Balance before any payments on the start date. Negative balances are allowed.

The example replaces this page with illustrative figures; it does not change a saved calendar.

Add income or a bill

Use the net amount arriving or the amount payable. For variable pay, add one-off receipts or change individual dates after adding a schedule.

Your income and bill schedules

0 of 30 entries. Delete a schedule to remove all its payments and individual changes.

Add the income and spending you want to include, including everyday costs and one-off bills you need to cover.

    Save or take a copy

Saving is optional and only happens when you choose it. Storage belongs to this browser on this device; other users of the same browser profile may see it, and clearing browser data removes it.

Downloads contain your dates, labels and amounts. Importing the .ics file into another calendar shares those details with that provider. Downloading here does not send them to a calendar service.

How the dates and balances work

Weekly, fortnightly and four-weekly entries repeat every 7, 14 and 28 days. Monthly entries keep the original day of the month. If that day does not exist, we use the last day: 31 January becomes 28 or 29 February, then 31 March. Four-weekly pay is not treated as monthly pay.

We do not move a payday automatically for weekends or bank holidays. Use “Edit payment” to match the date and amount your employer or provider confirms. A change affects one payment; the rest of its schedule stays anchored to the original date.

Running balances start with your opening balance, add included income and subtract entered bills and spending once. Reserves show money to set aside; they are not another expense. On the same date, the model takes bills before income. You can exclude estimated income to see what the confirmed receipts cover.

This tool does not estimate PAYE, benefits, bank fees, interest or unentered spending. Use net receipts you expect to receive, and mark uncertain dates or amounts as estimated. No bank connection or calendar-provider account is needed.
